Pamukkale

Pamukkale is a famous tourist attraction due to the spectacular crystalline rock and pool formations and the remains of a Roman spa town (Hieropolis) but it’s also a known site for Finsch’s Wheatear. Other birds reported from here have included Rock Sparrow, Rufous Bush Robin and, (by two separate observers) White-throated Robin. It was included in my book Finding Birds in Western Turkey but not in the new Finding Birds in South-west Turkey because my visit there in 2014 wasn’t very productive. However, any birder visiting this site might find the map below helpful.
