The whole area south of Joutseno is exceptionally good for passage geese but in recent years this particular spot has become acknowledged as perhaps the most reliable site for Booted and Lanceolated Warbler in Finland. In 2010 there were no Lanceolated Warblers in the whole country and very few Booted Warblers except here in the oilseed rape field next to the model aircraft club.
