Most birders go here to look for wintering Mountain Plover but I was just as excited to also find Sprague’s Pipit a bird that had eluded me on all my previous US trips.
All the sites in this section are treated, in detail and with precise maps and directions, in my book ‘Finding Birds in South Texas’
If you have any information which you feel would help to update the book, please email me at dave@easybirder.co.uk and I’ll add your observations to these pages

Sebastian fields
Somewhere out there were several small flocks of Mountain Plover but they were difficult to find
Its not so bad if you can drive along this track and scan from a vehicle
But that wasn’t an option on our visit
