An important area for wintering geese, cranes and raptors.
All the sites in this section are treated, in detail and with precise maps and directions, in my book ‘Finding Birds in South Texas’
If you have any information which you feel would help to update the book, please email me at dave@easybirder.co.uk and I’ll add your observations to these pages

Sal del Rey and Brushline Road
The view from Brushline Road looking west down a track towards the Sal del Rey. You are allowed to walk this track.
However it is the next track that gets you closer to the lake.
If you want to see cranes and geese on the lake you need to be here before they fly off to feed or after they return to roost.
