An excellent site for looking for crakes and Little Bittern on passage and Moustached Warbler in winter
Crakes are most likely to be around the edge of the reeds, unless the water level is low, in which case they may have to leave the reeds to reach the water’s edge. In those circumstances you may see several crakes crouched around a puddle in the middle.
If the water levels are high enough, some will overflow into a second pool below. This too can be good for crakes, snipe etc.
